Floating Chucks

SMP floating chucks allow the reamer to self-center during the pre-boring phase: the tool-holder sleeve radially moves on ball-bearings.

There is no need for a radial force on the reamer despite the strong pair caused by the cutting force: the body and the floating sleeve are linked by an Oldham coupling. On an angular level, an elastic piece automatically compensates the possible angle between the support element of the reamer and the spindle's axis.
